The facility is intended to handle infectious agents that require safety precautions to the extent of animal biosafety level-3 and -4 and biosafety level-3 and -4. An Army contractor is currently developing a site-specific risk assessment as part of the process to support construction of the proposed facility. This letter report presents an evaluation of the proposed approach to conducting the risk assessment, and offers guidance on the selection of pathogenic agents, scenarios, and assessment approaches.
