If you are interested in securing permission to translate a book published by the National Academies Press or its imprint, the Joseph Henry Press, please contact our Rights Department as follows:

If the rights are still available, we may option them to you for 3 months. We ordinarily request an advance payment as well as royalties for the foreign-language rights to our books. This payment will be negotiated prior to our executing a contract; contracts must signed before work can commence on the translation.
Please include the following information in your request:
- Title of the book
- Language into which you wish to translate the text
- Distribution territory
- Intended size of first print run
- Proposed selling price in local currency
If you are interested in any electronic rights, be sure to outline terms of use and the format in which the document will be made available (PDF, HTML, etc.). Also provide the URL for the home page on which the pages would be posted.
