Her research interests include the ecology of mosquito- and other insect-transmitted diseases and development of novel control and prevention strategies for those diseases. Dr. Wesson is past president of the Louisiana Mosquito Control Association, in which she remains a member of the Board of Directors, and past chair of the Medical and Veterinary Entomology Section of the Entomological Society of America. She received her PhD in medical entomology from the University of Notre Dame.
