Ms. Lauver was a staff member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee from 1974 to 1996 and was the principal committee Republican staff person during consideration of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 and the National Highway System Designation Act of 1995 as well as the Surface Transportation Acts of 1978, 1982, and 1987.
