From page 16...
... Fluids in fluid inclusions have been studied from numerous widely separated rock samples from metamorphic terranes, but no study has been possible of samples recovered in sequence from a deep drill hole in an orogenic terrane. Although fluid inclusions are likely to be present in cuttings, only in core samples could fluid inclusions be studied in the context of the petrogenesis of their host rocks as determined by metamorphic petrology.
