14 5 CONCLUSION The Survey of State Funding for Public Transportation report serves as a unique source of information on state-level public transportation funding, the source of funds, the potential use of funds, and method of funds distribution for state transit programs. Recommended changes in data collected and the organization of the report should have the benefit of streamlining its production and focusing on the most useful data elements. With these changes the report should continue to serve its role in providing crucial information on state funding levels and sources.
